In 2014, the Orfalea Center for Global & International Studies and the faculty of the Global Studies program at UCSB hosted the 2014 annual Santa Barbara Global Studies Conference. This year’s conference focused on the material moorings and manifestations of the global. The Keynote speaker was Ananya Roy, Professor of City and Regional Planning and Distinguished Chair in Global Poverty and Practice at the University of California, Berkeley.
