Student Bio

Ricardo Delgado Solis is a Ph.D. student in the Chicana and Chicano Studies Department at UCSB. He holds a bachelor of science in Sociology and a bachelor of arts in Gender and Sexuality studies from UC Riverside. His research interests revolve around the intersectionality of race, immigration, and sexuality among non-traditional, first-generation, undocu-queer Latinx students navigating higher education spaces. Ricardo is a non-traditional transfer and first-generation student, and his interdisciplinary and intersectional research aims to make visible and understand the lack of underrepresented, non-traditional, Latinx students in Ph.D. programs.
