Melodies of Resistance: Palestinian Artists for Liberation
Research Description
My work on unsettling settler colonialism looks at the various forms of state-sponsored violence towards Indigenous populations around the world, including ecological violence, government-initiated censorship, and displacement. My research is situated within the social sciences concerned with Palestine, environmental justice, colonialism, indigeneity, media, and state violence. To uncover how Palestinian people across the world interpret resistance and anti-colonial philosophies, I will utilize qualitative methods to conduct content analysis of Palestinian media and literature. By centering Palestinian voices, I aim to illuminate the vibrant and evolving ways in which ideologies of resistance, liberation, autonomy, and decolonization are lived and expressed within the community.
