Peng Ren

This presentation discusses the work of the Global Environmental Institute, a Chinese NGO based in Beijing, with a focus on China's international presence and the country's "going global" strategy. This talk highlights GEI’s conduct of research and policy analysis, producing publications on Chinese environmental protection policy and the social and environmental challenges of global expansion. This presentation also discusses active programs in areas like energy, climate change, ecosystem conservation, communication, overseas investment and trade, and marine conservation, with projects in over ten countries and throughout China, reaching for goals such as sustainable development of Chinese outward investment and trade, as well as balancing economic, social, and environmental impacts.
