The Future of the Amazon: A New Era of Indigenous Activism, Post-Carbon Environmental Models, and Latin American Partnerships with China and the Global South

The Orfalea Center welcomes you to this conference on international finance, environmental policy, and Indigenous communities. This is a forum for developing community, public, and policy analyses of the environmental and social impact of mining, infrastructure, and transportation investments by China and other international concerns in Ecuador and Brazil, particularly in the Amazon region. The conference will facilitate conversations among Indigenous activists, environmental policymakers, activist-researchers, and NGOs. This conference will also feature the launch of a new book "The Tropical Silk Road: The Future of China in South America" (Stanford University Press).
