Cairo Securitized Book Launch

Sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation and supported by our partners at the Security in Context network, this international conference will launch a new volume, entitled “Cairo Securitized: Reconceiving Urban Justice and Social Resilience.” This convening will feature exciting activist research and publicly engaged perspectives at the intersection of new urban studies, critical security studies, gender/sexuality studies, authoritarianism and power, media and public art studies, social movement studies, and Middle East Studies, consisting of variety of panels, creative and cultural events, and engagements with publics/audiences that will include youth activists, undergrads, community groups, new media creators, and non-academics.
