Innovation and technology are part of today's agenda on education globally. This panel examines ideas, challenges, and successes of innovation at the global level, taking perspectives from the Global South to (1) tackle inequalities in childrens', teenagers', and young adults' access to education; (2) assess potential uses of AI in the classroom and in education-related infrastructures; and (3) discuss goals, accomplishments, and setbacks in universalizing high-quality education in our world. Our three Middle East-based guests affiliated with Qatar Foundation will examine these points and others in a conversation with UC Santa Barbara and Georgetown University discussants.
