“Business Communications and Social-Environmental Contexts: Chinese Finance in Angola”

This book, in progress, examines Chinese megaprojects (in infrastructure, port-building, new-city building and mining/extraction) in terms of how Angolan communities, movements, and policy actors debate their impact, particularly in four dimensions: (1) ecological, (2) cultural and racial/ethnic relations between Chinese communities, Chinese business people and local Angolan communities, (3) cultural diplomacy and social responsibility between Chinese business communities and Angolan communities, and (4) issues of gender/sexuality that structure these relations.
