Professor Lalaie Ameeriar wins 2014-15 Woodrow Wilson Fellowship

The Orfalea Center is proud to announce that its colleague and Executive Committee member Lalaie Ameeriar, Assistant Professor of Asian-American Studies, is a recipient of the prestigious 2014-15 Woodrow Wilson Foundation Career Enhancement Fellowship. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the fellowships are awarded annually in a national competition to support promising research by young scholars “committed to eradicating racial disparities in core fields in the arts and sciences.” During the fellowship year, Professor Ameeriar plans to complete her first book tentatively titled, Downwardly Global: Re-colonizing Immigrant Bodies in the Age of Multiculturalism.
